Work Experience

EXPERIAN November 2025 – Present
Cloud Architect – Experian Health
  • Responsible for supporting two primary cloud efforts for a well-established Experian Health product called Claims Source. Primary effort was assisting in the migration of on-prem systems into AWS for a modernization effort. The secondary effort focused on creating an isolated backup environment for security and availability concerns.
DELOITTE September 2021 – October 2025
Specialist Master | Platform Architect – Software Factory
  • Platform architect and team lead developing OpenShift and Rancher/RKE2 Kubernetes accelerators designed to automate the needs of bringing a client to production standards. Provided solutions for IAM, Secret Management, TLS/PKI management, Service Mesh configuration with Istio, and automating infrastructure with Terraform IaC.
  • Design GitOps driven pipelines for teams to streamline product development. Enforced standards that all change must be driven by source control, and all platform configurations must be committed as code. Standardized source control nomenclature for branching and leveraged best practices for code committing and peer review.
  • Leveraged Gitlab CI/CD pipelines with platform managed Kubernetes FIPS hardened runners for job execution for platform tenants. Heavy emphasis on leveraging ArgoCD to handle the continuous deployment and consistency of resources into a cluster. Leveraged Vault Operator to securely inject sensitive application related configuration.
  • Responsible for assisting in the maintaining of a developer image registry managed by Nexus/Artifactory that contained a collection of CIS and STIG hardened base images for application team consumption.
  • Lead the deployment of platform artifacts in federal agencies, abiding by strict federal agency requirements. Experience in strictly enforced separation of duty and least privileged access models within AWS Gov Cloud.
  • Lead integration of the image hardening team, developer accelerator team, and product seed team within platform.
  • Deloitte Coach responsible for mentoring junior and mid-level practitioners in the firm.
Specialist Senior | Platform Developer Lead – Software Factory
  • Developed and maintained Kubernetes oriented infrastructure modules using Terraform driven IaC for both AWS and Azure. These modules served as an opinionated implementation of building blocks for delivering the compute, storage, and network needs for Kubernetes clusters for RKE2, and EKS clusters.
  • Created a collection of git hooks leveraging the pre-commit framework to enforce Terraform module quality standards. This included automating code formatting, documentation generation, and Aqua Security tfsec to ensure infrastructure configuration is being created with security best practices in mind.
  • Tested Terraform modules with Terragrunt Golang packages for integration and functional testing to ensure reliable IaC artifact deployments. This also served as a good way to demonstrate to consumers how to leverage the modules for their needs and the functionality they could expect to leverage from the implementations.
  • Developed Ansible playbooks for initial configuration of platform tools like Gitlab, Nexus, Vault, SonarQube, Keycloak, Jira, Confluence, and FreeIPA and the authentication configurations needed for LDAP or OIDC.
  • FinOps panel participant for innovating cost saving practices across the firm's cloud accounts using ARM/Graviton.
LEIDOS August 2018 – August 2021
DevOps Engineer – Leaf Platform
  • Developed and maintained Terraform infrastructure modules for AWS and Azure to handle the needs of teams and projects for k8s backed microservice web applications. Helped develop module pipelines for artifact release and quality assurance that leveraged module integration tests using a Terragrunt Golang library.
  • Developed an application authentication solution utilizing Keycloak with an OIDC proxy container to authenticate external requests. Utilized Istio for mTLS to encrypt mesh traffic and tracing for tracking requests within mesh.
  • Created k8s microservice application environments hosted in EKS and AKS for teams and projects. Administered microservice deployments and the configurations of their services with third party tools like Atlas and Aiven.
  • Developed EFK (Elasticsearch, Fluentbit, Kibana) Helm chart artifact for log aggregation for k8s microservices.
Junior Cloud Engineer - Health Group Solutions
  • Developed Python Lambda functions that would trigger to persist S3 events consisting of object metadata to a k8s managed microservice via a REST endpoint to produce the events directly to a Kafka topic in MSK, or Aiven.
  • Handled TLS/PKI within ECS microservice containers to ensure end-to-end encryption in health applications.
  • Validated that environments were properly leveraging the correct practices for ensuring all data at rest and data in transit is encrypted to meet HIPPA regulations for health clients and ensure security specifications were met.
IBM January 2018 – August 2018
Application Development/Testing Specialist – Tiger Team
  • Full stack developer (Spring Boot, AngularJS) developing an internal resource management application.
  • Leveraged AWS Lambda to help develop a serverless application that leveraged Angular JS frontend to enable functions that trigger to handle cloud operations such as shutting down EC2 servers or making RDS snapshots.
  • Member of a Tiger team to help develop fast paced prototypes for bids and proposal work leveraging AWS cloud technologies and developing web backend with Spring Boot and Django for monolithic applications.
  • Worked in an Agile structured team within a fast paced ever changing environment where learning fast was key.
